Mar 24-26 A new day, a new club, Airport Lounge, courtesy of David Fu. Been spending many a weekend with that guy and it’s like meeting a new version of the same person, slightly upgraded, each year for six years, until one sunny afternoon, you discover a completely different person. Many thanks to the folks who trucked out, Alex, Willis, Sean, and Jay. Celebrated Riley’s First Birthday the next morning, 40+ guests of happening peeps, and a petting zoo too! Thoughts of chasing chickens in the street. When evening rolled in with gray clouds and friends, sang and was serenaded the birthday tune for twin connections at Maki Maki. And tomorrow? A race through middle California to bring a silly headed brother back to school.

The 700+ mile weekend ends. After 8 hours driving, around 6 PM, I pull off to the shoulder of the 101 Freeway in Ventura County and spend 15 minutes with a cigarette and a camera, shooting the West Coast sunset. 5 cars join me; the dusky air rebounds in flashes of light. A giddy couple asks for help with memory archiving. The traffic back South winds around bends in serpentine curves, onlookers from every window with envious gleams in their eyes; their cars chase dust devils, joins the stream, and becomes another scale.
There is Life after turning 25. But who knew this trip would take 12 hours?
